Terms of use
Last updated 2026-09-07
1. Scope
These terms apply to the historical market data supplied by Kamakura Quant Lab. Obtaining the data means accepting them.
2. Permitted use
Internal use by you or your organisation, including:
- Research, backtesting, analysis, model development and learning
- Deriving indicators, features and results from the data
- Publishing those derived results, so long as they do not contain the data itself
3. Prohibited use
- Reselling, redistributing, transferring or lending the data
- Public hosting, placing on shared storage, or supplying it to a third party
- Sharing or transferring a token or a download URL
- Automating around the limits on how much may be fetched
Publish what you derive; do not redistribute the files you derived it from.
4. Access periods
- You must sign in for the first time, with your order number and email, within one month of the purchase. A purchase not used in that period cannot be used afterwards.
- That first sign-in starts a 14-day download period. Within it you may take market-days up to your allowance and download them.
- Inside the download period, anything you have taken may be downloaded as often as you like at no further cost. Each download link lasts one hour and a fresh one is issued whenever you ask.
- After the download period ends, no further market-days are taken and no new download links are issued, including where allowance remains. Unused allowance is not refunded. Files you have already downloaded remain yours.
5. No warranty of completeness
The data is a record of what was observed at the time of collection. It is not warranted to be complete, continuous or accurate, and contains gaps from collector outages, venue outages and scheduled maintenance. Known gaps are listed on the data page.
6. Not investment advice
The data, and the articles and code published alongside it, are for education and research. They are not investment advice, not a solicitation to trade, and not a recommendation of any position. No performance is guaranteed. Investment decisions are yours.
7. Refunds and defects
As a digital product, refunds are not generally given once delivery is complete. Get in touch if:
- You cannot access the data, or a download will not complete
- A file is corrupt, or its checksum does not match
- What was delivered differs materially from what was described
- You were charged twice
Where a defect is confirmed we re-supply the data or credit the equivalent market-days.
8. Suspension
A token may be revoked without notice where redistribution, token sharing or fraudulent payment is established.
9. Governing language
The Japanese text is the operative version. This English text is a convenience translation, and the Japanese governs where the two differ.
